MLBB M5 Wild Card features 8 teams, kicks off Nov 23, 2023

The first-ever M5 World Championship Wild Card starts this week, featuring 8 international teams, with M5 Team China set to take the global arena. Check out more details below.

Tournament Overview

The inaugural M5 World Championship Wild Card will be held at the JioSpace arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from November 23 to 26, 2023. The tournament was introduced by Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Esports this year.

The M5 Wild Card provides an opportunity for eight international teams to qualify for the M5 World Championship Group Stage, which will be held in Manila. The participants belong to different regions such as China, East Europe and Central Asia (EECA), Latin America, Mekong, Malaysia, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and South Asia. Notably, this event will mark the debut of teams from Nepal, Mongolia, and China on the global MLBB esports stage.

M5 Wild Card - Format, Teams, and Schedule

The M5 Wild Card stage consists of two stages: the Group Stage and Crossover Matches.

In the Group Stage, eight teams have been randomly drawn into two groups of four. Each group will compete in a single round-robin with Best-Of-Three (BO3) matches.

    • 4Merical Esports (Nepal) - Champion of the MLBB Champion Battles Fall 2023
    • Team SMG (Malaysia) - 2nd-place at MLBB Professional League Malaysia Season 12
    • Team Falcons (Saudi Arabia) - 2nd-place at the 2023 MLBB Professional League MENA Fall Split
    • Niightmare Esports (Laos) - Champion of the M Challenge Cup Mekong Season 2

  • Group B
    • Umbrella Squad (EECA) - 2nd-place at the MLBB Continental Championships Season 2
    • Imperio E-sport (Peru) - 3rd-place at Liga Latam 2023
    • Team Lilgun (Mongolia) - Champion of the ESN National Championship 2023
    • Keep Best Gaming (China) - Champion of the China Qualifier

M5 Wild Card Schedule

The Day 1 - Day 3 schedule is as follows:

After the first three days of the tournament, the top two teams from each group will move on to the Crossover Matches. In this stage, the first-placed team from each group will compete against the second-placed team from the other group in a Best-of-Five (BO5) match. The winners of both matches will advance to the M5 World Championship.

The first Crossover Match is scheduled to take place on November 26, 2023, starting from 14:00 GMT+8. The entire series will be streamed live on MLBB channels with commentary available in several local languages, including Arabic, Bahasa Indonesian, Bahasa Malaysia, Bengali, Chinese, English, Filipino, Lao, Mongolian, Nepali, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
