Korean team T1 won their fourth LoL Worlds title after beating Chinese team Weibo Gaming 3-0 in Seoul on November 19, 2023.
With their win in the 2023 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2023), the Korean hometown favorites bagged the Summoner's Cup and a grand prize of USD 445,000, which is 20 percent of the USD 2,225,000 prize pool.
This is Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok (dubbed the Unkillable Demon King) and the team's fourth world title, following previous victories in 2013, 2015, and 2016 when they were known as the team SK Telecom (SKT) T1.
Choi "Zeus" Woo-je earned the MVP (most valuable player) title in the best-of-five series, leading his team to their first championship in six years.
On the other hand, Weibo Gaming bowed out of the competition in second place, taking home USD 333,750 in consolation.
T1 was the only LCK team to make it to the finals after beating the other LPL representatives in the playoffs and Knockout stage, including Bilibili Gaming, LNG Esports, and JD Gaming.
During the previous year's Worlds tournament, T1, with the same roster as the current one, missed their chance to win the trophy after losing by a score of 3-2 against DRX, a lower-seed Korean team.
