Diablo Immortal revealed the patch notes for the Splintered Souls update, which is slated for launch on December 15, 2023, in Southeast Asia (SEA).
According to Blizzard, the sixth major update to Diablo Immortal will bring new mystical companions called Familiars, along with a new zone and other features.
Take a look below for additional information on how Familiars work, as well as what to anticipate when the update is launched.
Diablo Immortal "Splintered Souls" Patch Notes
Familiars are joining the fight against the Burning Hells by providing adventurers with an important utility role to aid them in battle and add depth to gameplay. Each of these pet-like creatures has an Active Skill, which triggers in combat automatically, as well as Passive Skills, Attributes, and Traits that boost both their and your own abilities.
Two separate variants of Familiars exist in the forms of Ordinary and Aberrant. Ordinary Familiars are most common. They come with valuable skills to aid themselves in combat and beyond. Aberrant Familiars have the strongest Familiar skills and are exclusive to this type of Familiar.
All Familiars have 4 different quality levels that can be Common, Magic, Rare, or Legendary.
Acquire a Familiar through a Summoning Contract (available as drops and rewards) or by purchasing them at the Familiars Shop (must be at least Level 30). Familiars can also be obtained from Shop Bundles, the Marketplace, the Boon of Plenty, and through Event rewards.
Melding can increase the power of your Familiar by taking two Familiars and melding them together.
Familiar Conversion will provide access to a new Familiar and a chance to obtain an Aberrant Familiar. However, this does not guarantee your Converted Familiar will remain at its specific rarity. Use a Conversion Stone to prevent any loss in rarity.
The new zone, Southern Dreadlands, has appeared with a new quest, Lost Justice. Here, you will encounter horrifying Shardborne among acid-streaked plains and hills, the outskirts of the great city of Staalbreak, the tent refuge of the Grey Wards, and more.
Five new Helliquary Bosses have emerged and can be encountered across 3 new Inferno Difficulties: IV, V, and VI. To unlock Inferno Difficulty IV, you must defeat Saarodan, Sky-Sunderer on Inferno Difficulty III and be at least Paragon Level 1100.
The new zone event, Sentinel's Stand, invites players to race through the Gully of Madness while summoning defensive towers to prevent shard-warped creatures from reaching the Shardstorm.
