Mobile Legends M5 World Championship Overview
M5 World Championship is the fifth iteration of Mobile Legends' world championship tournament. It is the concluding competition and World Championship of the 2023 Competitive Season, which is organized by MOONTON Games. The main event will take place from December 2 to 17, 2023, in Manila, Philippines. The EVM Convention Centre and Rizal Memorial Coliseum will host the games.
Sixteen teams from different regions will compete for the USD 900,000 prize pool and the title of MLBB world champion. Moreover, this year's tournament introduced a new M5 Wild Card qualifier, where Team SMG from Malaysia and Team Lilgun from Mongolia secured two slots for the main event.
Tournament Format
Here's the game format for the Mobile Legends' M5 World Championship.
Group Stage: December 2 to 7, 2023
- Sixteen teams are divided into four groups.
- In a Single Round Robin format, all matches are played in a best-of-three (Bo3) series.
- The top 2 teams from each group will advance to Knockout Stage.
- The bottom two teams from each group will be eliminated.
Knockout Stage: December 9 to 17, 2023
- Eight teams from Group Stage will play in a double-elimination bracket.
- All Matches are played in a best-of-five (Bo5)series except the Grand Finals.
- The Grand Final will be played in a best-of-seven (Bo7) series.

Knockout Stage (December 9 to 17, 2023)
The playoffs will run from December 9 to 17. The two remaining teams will meet in the grand finals on December 17 (Sunday) to crown a world champion.
Prize Pool
The M5 World Championship will have a massive USD 900,000 (roughly PHP 49.8 million) prize pool, which is larger than the USD 800,000 prize pool of the previous M4 World.
