Converge BIDA Fiber held a launch celebration for the local residents of Las Piñas and Parañaque on November 24, 2023, at Pio Garden Restaurant in Las Piñas, Metro Manila. Since its launch in San Nicolas, Cebu, last September, BIDA Fiber has received positive feedback from budget-conscious local subscribers.
Jay Villalobos, Converge Regional General Manager for NCR, said:
As we champion digital access to the mass markets, we are encouraged by the take-up of the BIDA fiber brand, which is now gradually expanding its presence in NCR. We will bring the affordability and best-in-class fiber connection that Converge is known for in more regions by year-end.
For only 888 Pesos per month, BIDA Fiber subscribers can connect up to six WiFi-enabled devices simultaneously. With the fast internet connection, they can use it for online classes, work-from-home setup, connecting to loved ones abroad, and online gaming.
According to Converge, they aim to "serve Filipinos with reliable, fast, and affordable fiber internet."
Dennis Anthony Uy, Converge CEO and Co-Founder, said:
In today's economy, we want to make sure customers realize more savings in their internet subscription. With BIDA Fiber, Filipinos may get the same, world-class connection at a price lower than the prevailing average cost of a postpaid fiber internet plan. It's always a question of quality over price, but with BIDA, they don't have to choose. We offer both.
BIDA Fiber by Converge has no data cap, which is advantageous for any home with different internet activities from each member of the household, such as web browsing, studying, video streaming, content creation, and online gaming.
Moreover, BIDA Fiber customers will receive free access to BlastTV, provided as a free value-added service (VAS) under the Converge first-in-market campaign. This free access to select movies and shows improves the viewing experience of BIDA Fiber users. BlastTV is an entertainment streaming platform that provides a variety of live channels and on-demand content that can be streamed through the web, smart TVs, and apps (iOS and Android).
As per Converge, the number of BIDA Fiber subscribers has increased by double digits in the second half of the year.
As Converge's residential subscribers rise, the leading fiber broadband provider plans to expand BIDA Fiber's presence throughout South Luzon by the end of 2023, including Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, and Quezon Province. BIDA Fiber is currently available in 588 cities and municipalities in the Philippines.
